Scottish Government to review child protection

1 min read Social Care
The Scottish Government is set to review its child protection policies after the current cycle of inspections finishes.

Adam Ingram, children's minister, said that with the programme drawing to a close, it was a good time to review guidance for child protection practitioners.

"The time is right for us to conduct a review of child protection guidance - drawing on the positives as well as areas that need work - to assess how we can further improve the protection of Scotland's children," he said.

A review of the 1998 guidance Protecting Children: A Shared Responsibility, will be led by a national working group chaired by the Scottish Government and with representatives from child protection committees, police, health, social work and the Crown Office.
