Scottish government launches anti-youth-crime initiative

1 min read Youth Justice
A new project has been launched by the Scottish government to prevent young people on the brink of crime from offending.

The Junction project, funded by £1.6m seized from criminals, is described as a "one stop development shop" to support young people in making positive choices.

Aimed at young people aged between 14 to 17, it aims to get them to face up to their actions through personal and social development opportunities.

The aim is that young people who go through the project will develop skills that allow them to go on to employment, further education or training.

The Junction is being introduced in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee and will be targeted at young offenders, looked-after children and school leavers and young people already involved in drug or alcohol abuse.
