The coalition, which will build on plans for a series of youth hubs designed to support young people most at risk of involvement in crime, has been urged to recognise the impact of youth work in keeping all young people safe.

Launched by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, actor and anti-knife crime campaigner Idris Elba and Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, the coalition will bring together campaign groups, families of people killed by knife crime, young people who have been impacted and community leaders.

It will also include technology companies and sport organisations as well as health service, education and police partners.
