Quality push for pre-school services in Leeds

Early Years
Leeds City Council has launched assessment and accreditation schemes for its early years service.

The Leeds Quality Assurance (LQA) is an improvement framework for the city's early years service that aims to guarantee that services such as pre-schools and nurseries meet consistent high standards.

Within the assurance scheme, two assessment modules have now been developed to ensure that domestic violence and family support services gain LQA accreditation for the work they do.

The modules are the only two specific modules in the country that link to help provide information and support on domestic violence and family support.

Liberal Democrat councillor Stewart Golton, the lead member for early years, said: “This new LQA assessment of domestic violence and family support services is part of the Early Years Service’s commitment to providing the very best level of support to its users.”
