Positive inspection for Trafford youth offending service

Trafford's youth offending service makes full and effective use of resources and engages well with young people, according to an inspection.

HMI Probation inspectors said safeguarding aspects of work were done well enough 82 per cent of the time, work to keep offenders' risk of harming others to a minimum was done well enough 69 per cent of the time and work on reducing reoffending was done well enough 80 per cent of the time.

Inspectors made four recommendations around improving assessments, intervention plans and safeguarding.

Christine Turner, executive councillor at Trafford, said: "This is an outstanding report."

Andrew Bridges,  HM Chief Inspector of Probation, said: "Overall we consider this an encouraging set of findings."
