Parents unaware childcare vouchers apply to over-fives

1 min read Early Years
Many working parents don't know that they can use their childcare vouchers to subsidise provision for over-fives, according to recent research.

Busy Bees Childcare Vouchers, the UK's largest distributors, consulted 200 out-of-school clubs and holiday schemes on parents' knowledge of the vouchers. The research showed that most parents believe the vouchers can only be used for nursery and pre-school age children.

"A staggering number of working parents are missing out on the substantial savings they could be making on care for their older children," said Simon Moore, managing director of Busy Bees Childcare Vouchers.

"Childcare vouchers can, in fact, be used for children up to the age of 16 and for a variety of childcare needs, including out-of-school clubs, holiday clubs, childminders and activity camps. I use mine to pay for my son's after-school football club, for instance," he added.
