Start for Life services are delivered through family hubs and offer support to parents of infants up to the age of two, including a range of services such as health visits and infant feeding support. The programme is established in 75 local authorities, funded by a government investment of £300 million over three years.

The review, which has been commissioned by the government, will be conducted by Ofsted and the CQC.

It will evaluate families’ experiences of local services and how effectively these are joined up under the family hub model, identify ways to better support families with infants, and explore whether the current level of inspection of Start for Life services is sufficient to identify any issues.
