The report, published following an inspection by Ofsted in mid-June, rated services as “outstanding” in three areas: the impact of leaders on social work practice with children and families, the experiences and progress of children who need help and protection and overall effectiveness.

The experiences and progress of children in care and care leavers received a rating of “good".

Yvette Stanley, Ofsted’s national director for social care, said: “Bracknell Forest’s children’s services demonstrated a culture of child-focused support and challenge across all service levels. The hard work of the leadership team, staff, wider council and safeguarding partners all contributed to this fantastic achievement.”
