The motion, brought forward by Councillor for Bestwood, Georgia Power, states: “Nottingham City Council believes that care-experienced people face significant barriers that impact them throughout their lives.”
Councillors voted to pass the motion at a full council meeting on 9 January, with the the local authority saying it will now "treat" care experience as a protected characteristic, and treat care-experienced people as a vulnerable group who may face discrimination.

Recognise that councils have a duty to put the needs of vulnerable people at the heart of decision-making through co-production and collaboration
