No-notice inspections find more areas for priority action

Social Care
The latest set of Ofsted no-notice safeguarding inspections have highlighted "areas for priority action" in a further three local authorities.

Areas including quality of record keeping, delay in completion of assessments and electronic recording systems were among those highlighted as in need of urgent action.

The reports for Rotherham, Peterborough and Slough all had at least one area in need of priority action.

Rotherham was urged to improve its information systems as it did not provide accurate information on referrals and the status of investigations. Delays in completing assessments were highlighted at Slough and an ongoing recruitment and retention problem was revealed as an area requiring urgent attention in Peterborough.

Hammersmith and Fulham and Lincolnshire whose reports were also published today were not asked to improve practice urgently.
