Mental health advice service goes online

Health
A new website that aims to offer advice to young people about mental health issues and provide support to those suffering problems has been launched.

It includes information on coping with stress, the effects of drugs and alcohol, and details on common mental health disorders.

The website, which is aimed at 14- to 24-year-olds, has been created by mental health charity Rethink and features interactive games and quizzes, blogs, music and photos.

It also has a free downloadable guide to help all school staff in England support the mental health and wellbeing of their pupils.

James Gorman, Rethink's young persons' programme manager, said: "It is extremely important that we teach all young people how to look after their mental health and wellbeing. And it's crucial they know where they can get help immediately if problems do develop."
