Plans approved by council executives this week will see Level 1 social workers receive a £2,000 bonus after two years at the council.

Advanced social workers and team managers will also receive a supplement of up to £5,487 for training and professional development.

Other elements of the strategy include implementing an area-based approach to children’s services, ensuring children’s services are better integrated with other local services, and an increased focus on early intervention, the council said.
