Youth Justice
A major inquiry into knife crime in London is launching today (Monday).

The Home Affairs Select Committee will kick off the work with a seminar focusing on knife crime in the capital.

Kit Malthouse, London deputy mayor for policing and Fiona Blacke, chief executive of the National Youth Agency will highlight the major issues for the committee to explore during its inquiry.

Young people involved with the Prince's Trust will share their personal experiences of knives, and committee members will talk to a wide range of people covering community organisations, the criminal justice system, church leaders, academics and journalists.

Keith Vaz Labour MP for Leicester East and chairman of the committee said that the death of 28 young people in London this year made it an "incredibly" important issue.
