LGA's Jo Miller steps in to steady Doncaster Council

1 min read Social Care
The deputy chief executive of the Local Government Assocation (LGA) has been drafted into crisis-hit Doncaster Council after chief executive Tim Leader stepped down citing "irreconcilable differences" with mayor Peter Davis.

Council members voted to appoint Leader as interim chief executive of Doncaster Council in January, but mayor Davis questioned the validity of the appointment and urged Leader to quit. Leader eventually stepped down last week. Now LGA's Jo Miller is to be seconded as the interim chief executive of the beleaguered authority for up to two months.

Miller said: "There are no quick fixes or easy solutions but I am determined to help Doncaster go from strength to strength in the coming months and set a course of improvement in the coming years for both staff and the people of the borough."
