- New Ofsted inspection 'positive experience'

I'd like to make clear that our recent Ofsted inspection under the new single framework, which rated us "good", was a positive experience (CYP Now, 4 March).

The new system is a marked improvement on the previous framework, and the transparent process and the "show me, tell me" approach works well and was appreciated by our staff.

Inspectors were receptive to respectful challenge, showed empathy toward those of us running services on the ground and kept us well informed throughout. We expect our day-to-day services to be at least good, so a no-notice inspection was never an issue.

Facing a new system is inevitably nerve-wracking, but as I've said to colleagues yet to go through the process who have asked for feedback, this has been a good learning experience.
