Online support must not be blocked

For the sake of all the charities actively supporting young people online, the government needs to take our concerns on board when they meet internet service providers to discuss child internet safety.

Charities that provide trusted information and support for young people are at risk of their content being blocked by these compulsory filters, which the government has now requested are referred to as "default on". The new terminology is important. No filter is perfect and the risk is that parents will assume a "default on" setting provides all the safety that is needed.

It is important we keep young people safe online, but can keep supporting them too.
