A Haringey spokesperson said: "The decision was taken by a panel of councillors.
Ms Shoesmith will not be returning to work in Haringey. She will not receive any compensation package. She will not receive any payment in lieu of notice."
Shoesmith was suspended from her post earlier this month after Children's Secretary Ed Balls received a "devestating" Osted report into safeguarding failings at Haringey. The report was commissioned following the death of the child known as Baby P after mopnths of abuse and neglect.
