Guide leaders, volunteers and members have launched a petition, calling on the organisation to reconsider the decision to sell five of its activity centres – Foxlease, Waddow Hall, Glenbrook, Blackland Farm and Ynysgain – which has reached more than 25,000 signatures.

The centres are due to be closed at the year's end and sold, due to high running costs and low uptake.

The Save Our Centres campaign comes as the organisers of Olave international camp, a quadrennial event aimed at empowering and fostering cultural exchange among girl guides, announced that next year’s event will be postponed to 2025 due to the closure of Blackland Farm, where it was due to be held.
