Gateshead holds "risky play" event

More than 600 children got together under a council initiative to encourage "risky play".

Gateshead Council held the event on Wednesday (6 August), and was part of the national Annual Playday campaign.

Families took part in risky activities such as space-hopper football, an obstacle course, water slide, tyre football, relay games and den building.

The Playday event is designed to encourage challenging and adventurous play opportunities for children.
