
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has announced that the new strategy will be designed alongside young people in a bid to “prioritise delivering better coordinated youth services and policy at a local, regional and national level”.
It will “put young people back in charge of their own destiny, starting with better understanding of their lives and needs,” she said.
As part of the new strategy, David Cameron’s flagship youth scheme, The NCS, which was founded in 2011, will be wound down from March next year.
“The government believes that a new approach is needed to support young people with the challenges of today,” Nandy added.
