First BSF-funded pupil referral unit opens

1 min read Education
The first pupil referral unit built through the government's multi billion pound Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme has opened in South London.

Park Campus School in Lambeth will provide alternative education for up to 80 pupils aged between 11 and 18, who need support because of social, emotional or behavioural difficulties.

Lambeth Council will also use the new school to house its behaviour partnership service, which supports pupils back into mainstream education and provides outreach to local schools.

The state of the art site, which includes an Astroturf pitch, gym and multi-media suite, has been designed to help as many pupils as possible return to mainstream education.

Designers constructed the campus so that pupils are supervised at all times and there is nowhere for young people to hang around outside the school.
