The campaign will include an online database giving schools access to information on professional development provision.
In a survey, the TDA found 41 per cent of schools never seek assistance with CPD from a national organisation. In addition, 26 per cent never consult with universities or colleges on courses and 10 per cent never network with other schools.
The campaign will act upon the findings of the survey to remove the barriers preventing schools from accessing CPD advice and guidance.
Tim Brighouse, the former London Schools Commissioner and teacher who launched the campaign, said: "Through this campaign, the TDA is getting schools out of their current thinking about CPD to offer authoritative guidance that will help schools understand what CPD can offer and provide signposts to both its own and other organisations' resources."
