Online training for school workers

1 min read Education
Schools workers are to tailor their continuing professional development (CPD) online, through a Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) pilot scheme.

Participants in the scheme, which launches in September, will have access to a national CPD database, allowing them to compare and select various professional development options.

The database will include a portal for CPD providers to upload events and training opportunities, and a facility to allow school staff to give feedback on how the service could be improved.

Graham Holley, chief executive of the TDA, said: "Far too many teachers feel CPD is something that is done to them rather than something that is of help to them. Effective CPD comes from having a clear understanding of the skills and attributes each individual needs at each stage of their career development. I want all schools to know that the TDA is here to help them develop their staff to the best of their ability."
