The support service will have professionals from health, education'social care and Connexions working together in one building. Teamswithin the service will include an early years service, a sensorysupport team, a counselling service for parents and a community nursingand psychology service for young people with a learning disability. Achildren with disabilities team will provide social work support andshort break services.
Service manager Robin Miller said: "When you speak to parents ofchildren with disabilities or special needs, what they always say isthat they find it really hard to know what services are available andfind where they are located. When they do find the services they findthemselves repeating what their needs are time and time again."
