CYP Now Early Help Conference 2023: Key debates and sector reaction

Professionals working with vulnerable children and young people across the sector have come together to hear from experts on key reforms to early help policy in England.

CYP Now hosted its annual Early Help conference on 27 September in central London, chaired by editor Derren Hayes.

Key topics covered

The conference heard from speakers and attended workshops covering topics such as supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping young people with eating disorders and the state of early perinatal care.

Helen Lincoln, executive director of children, families and education opened the day with her thoughts on how “collaborative” early help services could be designed to work for families, particularly to support those living in poverty, as well as calling for a national online approach to early help.

Hilda Beauchamp, perinatal and infant mental health lead at the Institute of Health Visiting, delivered a keynote speech.
