
In a letter to the Prime Minister laying out her recommendations for the scope of the inquiry, chair Baroness Heather Hallett said it should include “children and young people, including the impact on health, wellbeing and social care education and early years provision”.
Hallett said she had heard “compelling arguments” for the inclusion of the pandemic impact on children during a four-week consultation with more than 150 bereaved families and organisations representing different sectors on how to improve the scope of the inquiry.
Baroness Hallett has recommended that the draft Terms of Reference are reframed to put inequalities at the forefront.
She’s also asked for the Terms of Reference to be expanded to include children and young people, impacts on mental health and wellbeing,
