The UK Covid-19 Inquiry is investigating the impact of the pandemic on the country and scrutinising the response to the health crisis so that lessons can be learned.

The public inquiry, chaired by former Court of Appeal judge Baroness Heather Hallett, divides its work into several modules, with each one investigating the impact of the pandemic on different aspects of society or groups of people. Last month (September) saw the launch of module 8 to investigate the impact on children and young people.

What is the scope of module 8?

At the first preliminary hearing in London, Clair Dobbin KC said that Covid-19 “affected fundamental aspects of what it meant to be a child” including schooling, relationships with friends and ability to spend time with grandparents.
