Croxteth Gems was voted the best of four community organisations across England, by 12 young people aged 14 to 19 who toured the quartet.
The project was led by Tom Robbins (22), a volunteer at Community Matters, the national federation for community organisations, as part of its Youth Engagement Scheme (YES).
"Young people are a vital part of the future of all our communities and the YES project has highlighted the critical importance of young people being given opportunities to take part in their local communities," said David Tyler, chief executive for Community Matters.
The tour undertaken by the young judges, took them from Croxteth Gems to Foresight in Grimsby, Mpower in Hounslow and the Pan Community Youth Club on the Isle of Wight.
