The organisation proposes to establish a charity within five years that will generate enough money to spend £1m a year on large-scale public campaigns. It aims to ensure nine out of 10 children, parents and professionals are aware of the children's commissioner. It also wants two-thirds of children who are aware to feel he or she has had a significant impact on their lives.
The new name and logo of 11 Million have been developed in conjunction with children and young people, and aim to reflect the number of children in England and their diverse concerns. Children's commissioner Al Aynsley-Green said: "I see this as a key milestone in our development after nearly two years of set up. Adults ask '11 Million what?' and are taken aback to learn how many children there are."
