Children unaware of British seaside towns

1 min read
One in 10 children in Britain have never visited a beach in the UK, according to a new study.

Travelodge polled 2,000 children aged between five and 12 years old and found that more children have travelled to resorts in Europe than in the UK.

This means that a huge number children have no idea where many famous seaside towns are.

More than a quarter do not know where Brighton is, they think it’s on the west coast of the country and 17 per cent of children think Blackpool is in the south.

A total of 40 per cent of children are stumped when it comes to the location of Eastbourne and Torbay and 27 per cent have not even heard of Bournemouth.
