Child pornography ban extended

A children's charity has welcomed the move to make all images of child sexual abuse illegal.

The Ministry of Justice revealed today (Wednesday) that all images of child sexual abuse, including drawings and computer-generated images, will be illegal under new proposals.

Shaun Kelly, safeguarding manager for children's charity NCH, said: "This is a welcome announcement that makes a clear statement that drawings or computer-generated images of child abuse are as unacceptable as a photograph.
 
"It adds to the range of measures to help ensure the safeguarding of children and young people."
