Earlier this month, CYP Now revealed that the Conservatives intend to repeal legislation requiring local authorities to set up children's trusts and publish local children and young people plans.
Gove claimed the trusts are ineffective and saddle councils with unnecessary bureaucracy, preventing professionals from getting on with their jobs.
But Sarah Brennan, chief executive of YoungMinds, branded the Tory plans as "a clear indication that the wellbeing of our children and young people is not being taking seriously".
Children's trusts and children and young people plans are essential to encourage joint working, she warned.
"We fear that without these plans much of the progress made in terms of improving Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and improving the access to these services will be lost," she said.
