1 min read
Anti-bullying organisations are teaming up with a children's TV channel to encourage more children to speak out when they see or experience bullying.

The Anti-Bullying Alliance, a group of 65 organisations working toreduce bullying, has announced that Nickelodeon will be an officialpartner in this year's Anti-Bullying Week.

Simon Blake, the alliance's acting manager, said: "We're supporting themto ensure they have a good grasp of the issues and we can reach a goodnumber of children through the partnership."

Anti-Bullying Week 2006 aims to help children report bullying with themessage: "Bullying: see it, get help, stop it."

This is supported by Nickelodeon's first anti-bullying scheme, SeeSomething, Say Something, which launched this week.

"The evidence shows that one in four children do something when they seebullying happen - three in four don't. At best they ignore it, at worstthey join in," said Blake. "The important thing is that they don't jumpin with both feet and do something dangerous. But also that they don'tjust walk away, that they get help or tell someone."
