Bradford youth plan environmental contest

Young people in Bradford are working on projects to raise awareness about climate change and the environment.

The Environmental Awareness Team in Bradford is currently planning an Enviro-vision contest involving music, song writing and performing to highlight the issue.

The team, which formed last April, comprises a group of about 10 young people aged 13 to 19 from different parts of Bradford. The songs in the Enviro-vision contest will be written and performed by young people and inspired by the environment. Once each group has performed their contribution locally they will be invited to Bradford Community Broadcasting to record the song.

Bradford Youth Grantmakers has donated funding for the initial stages.

Daniel Carroll, youth radio development worker, said: "We hope the ability of the musicians can break down barriers, geographically and culturally, to raise awareness on an issue that affects us all."
