The Commissioning Support Programme (CYP Now, 8-14 October, p4) will help commissioners of services, including those in health and education, share best practice through websites and events, as well as provide tailored support.
It will be delivered by the consultancies the Office for Public Management, PIPC (UK), Boxwood, the Institute of Public Care at Oxford Brookes University and The Reform Programme. Digital marketing agency Reading Room is the technology partner.
The programme, sponsored by the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Department of Health, will launch later this year and run until April 2011. It will work with national bodies such as the new Centre for Excellence and Outcomes.
