Baby Peter social worker wins compensation from Haringey Council

The High Court has awarded a social worker undisclosed damages after Haringey Council made false claims about her in the aftermath of the Baby Peter case.

The London council had claimed Sylvia Henry did not raise concerns about returning Baby Peter to his mother, Tracey Connelly, who was convicted of causing or allowing her son’s death in May last year.

But Henry, who met Baby Peter when he was admitted to hospital in 2006 with suspicious injuries, voiced concerns and noted that she wanted him taken into professional care.
