Anti-knife crime drive to run this week

An anti-knife crime campaign that will run on Facebook as well as in school assemblies and classrooms has been launched by the government in partnership with a knife crime victims' charity.

The "Count Me In: Together We Can Stop Knife Crime" week will be co-ordinated by the government in conjunction with Families United, a charity set up by knife crime victims' families.

Hosted by social networking website Facebook and the Families United website, the campaign will consist of a week of activity in and around schools this week that will involve anti-knife crime material being be distributed to almost 300,000 primary school pupils in the areas most affected by knife crime.

The material — which includes guidance on running assemblies and lessons on anti-knife crime as well as online games and videos — is available to schools at the Facebook, Familes United and Teachernet websites.
