Action for Kids disappointed NCH name change is to go ahead

Disabled children's charity Action for Kids has said it is disappointed the Charity Commission has not stopped NCH changing its name to Action for Children.

The disability charity opposed the name change, saying people would get confused if NCH became Action for Children.

But the Charity Commission has ruled there is “no material risk of public confusion”.

Mike Hayes, chief executive of Action for Kids, said: “The potential confusion and administrative burden which may be imposed on Action for Kids as a result of this name change is huge.

“Charities that have similar names and causes may well have their profile swamped. We will continue to monitor and document any confusion caused after the launch of the new name.”

NCH will become Action for Children on Wednesday September 17 as part of a re-launch. See the September 17 edition of CYP Now for more details.
