Funding The amount depends on the particular child's needs.
Funder The foundation is the distributor of a fund that helps pay fees for vulnerable children at independent and state-maintained boarding schools in England and Wales.
Aim The charity's main aim is to help children whose potential for normal and happy development can only be realised through boarding care in a suitable school. The foundation will fund places at independent or state-maintained boarding schools for vulnerable children.
Who can apply? Single parents, relations caring for a child, legal guardians and professionals working with vulnerable children can apply on behalf of a child. The main criterion is a lack of parental care where no other care is available. This can include: the death or permanent absence of one or both parents; chronic and enduring mental or physical ill health of a parent; sibling disability that could affect the care and development of the child; and abandonment or abuse.
