What is it? This Big Lottery Fund scheme offers grants to expand crime prevention schemes with a proven track record of diverting young people away from crime. The Big Lottery Fund has appointed a consortium led by Catch22 to handle the selection process.
How much is on offer? The aim is to hand out up to £3m each to the best 20 schemes that apply. Although the fund is aimed at covering revenue costs, up to £50,000 will be made available for capital costs such as building or refurbishment work.
What will it fund? As a revenue grant, funding is focused on staffing and management costs, including travel and equipment. The focus is on expanding successful projects into new geographical areas and to target different groups of young people.
