1 min read Youth Work
Sarah Williams' job involves working across the youth sector to show people how exciting it can be when young people take action to change the world.

- How did you get involved in youth work?

When I was 12, I went to a youth club but then the leader left. We started a campaign to recruit a new one - it didn't work but that was the start of my interest in both youth work and in young people's campaigning.

- What subjects did you study?

I went to university and studied American history and then became a swimming teacher. More than anything I enjoyed being with young people. I then taught English for a couple of years in Ecuador and Australia. Again I was drawn to providing one-to-one support to young people.
