It can be accessed via www.ssc.education.ed.ac.uk/earlyyears/letmeplay/home.html

Or on You Tube www.youtube.com/watch?v=3dD2gbiwlcQ

This 40-minute film includes three sections: Children Playing, Parents and Professionals, and an Inclusion Story. The accessible versions include subtitles, BSL interpretation and audio description where appropriate, and are available in a number of languages.

The first section focuses on individual children aged between three months and five years working with parents and early years staff at home and in early years settings. The section on Parents and Professionals includes the experiences of parents who have a visually impaired child. And the final section follows the story of Rosie, a child who attended a nursery as a baby and films her in her primary school reading and writing using braille. Nursery staff talk about their positive experiences of working with Rosie, what support they received from outside professionals and the importance of providing an appropriate learning environment.
