Your first experience of youth work?
I was involved in my local youth club and loved meeting other people. I had lots of opportunities and wanted to help others have the same.
So you started volunteering?
All the time I was doing A-levels and at university I was volunteering. I helped set up an internet cafe in the early days when many young people couldn't get access to computers. It's nice when I go home and walk past that project - it's still there 10 years later. As a young person, I also helped to set up the UK Youth Parliament and became a trustee.
