The current senior management team arrived at Warren Park four years ago after a major restructure. At that point, the centre delivered services for specific groups of young disabled people such as short break overnight stays, out-of-school clubs and shared care.
Within the first six months of our arrival, we began the process of developing a vision for Warren Park. This was not done by just sitting and talking in a room with a flipchart - although there was plenty of this.
We kick-started the process by attempting to understand our market - our stakeholders and our competitors. We considered what services we offered and the needs of our customers by consulting with parents, carers and young people. Crucially, we began a closer relationship with Kingston Council, which allowed us to become part of its decision making processes.
