Out on my own

I started working in the early 1990s. As a woman and a young mother in construction at that time it wasn’t always easy, but I knew I had something to offer and managed to become a director by the time I turned 31.

Eventually, I was ready to set up my own project directing consultancy in the UK, Turkey, Italy and Dubai. I was even posted to West Africa on behalf of the Mali government to work on a social housing project. It was one of the biggest challenges I have ever undertaken but also one of the most rewarding. It showed me what I was capable of, which would prove to be invaluable in the years to come.
