A few years ago, like a character in the third act of a Hollywood film, I was at a crossroads. After years of working as a media facilitator, working with individuals as diverse as ex-political prisoners, single mums, senior citizens, and the long-term unemployed, I was ready for a change. At this crossroads, I could continue my work as a media facilitator, or I could go in a different direction and continue with some videography projects, which proved pretty interesting in the past. Or make a U-turn and head back to work as a film tutor. As my mind raked over my CV and past achievements, I realised that I needed more. The other thing that I quickly realised was that within my work in media facilitation, the part I enjoyed the most was what I called the “bits in between”. It was the process, the creative journey.
