Actions

Medway Council is one of 75 local authorities to create its own network of family hubs after receiving a share of Department for Education funding last year through the Family Hubs and Start for Life programme.

With four family hubs in Medway - Chatham, Wayfield, Gillingham and Strood - the council’s network also includes a number of wellbeing centres.

It says each centrally located point of access offers services that cover areas such as parenting, infant feeding, perinatal mental health support and early language development.

Pre-bookable sessions are offered for activities such as baby massage, stay and play and infant feeding delivered by the network’s partners that include health visitors, midwives and charities such as Homestart and Family Action.
