The title Bullyproof Your Child for Life makes a grand claim, but it will be of instant interest for anyone whose child has been a victim of bullying.
Boasting a recommendation from The New York Times, this book provides anecdotes and suggests approaches that a victim of bullying could adopt. The author looks at the key points when children are most vulnerable to bullying and offers tailored solutions for each one.
Although divided into sections, the book does not come to the point precisely or quickly. And for those readers who are not entirely au fait with the American education structure, the case studies are not always easy to translate into the life experiences of British children. For example, one chapter focuses on bullying at camp and details an established part of the American education culture. Similarly, the chapter on bullying in sport suggests actions that are less relevant without a familiar context.
