When I first saw the front cover of the book I knew I was in for a treat. The photo of a young child sucking on an orange sums up the book's ethos of children having fun, enjoying the investigation of different everyday things and inspiring new experiences. The book itself is a compendium of exciting activities, recipes and guidance for an extensive range of fun things young children can do. I can't remember seeing such an exhaustive range of activities contained in one handy-sized book before.

The text is clear and easily understandable and the recipes are simple to follow. We tried a few of the recipes we hadn't made before, and found the tips and the listings of required equipment excellent. There were even clues on where to source some of the products from. The book's photographs beautifully illustrate the wonder and fun of children playing and learning, as well as giving the reader an idea of what the activity looks like.
