Focusgov works with local authorities creating bespoke digital applications that help care leavers access their local offer which, it believes, can be further enhanced by the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
The public sector software developer says its Care Leavers app provides “24/7 access” to information and advice relevant for young people leaving care, including guidance on topics such as housing and entitlements but also work, education and wellbeing.
About 40 UK councils have worked with focusgov to launch their own version of the app after co-producing its content, style and design with care-experienced young people.
Recent examples of these are Croydon Council's Croydon Cares app and Notts Next Steps, an app launched by Nottingham Council.
